Inquire About Workshops →KAMASWITHRU is not a system for producing the same athlete over and over. It is a framework for uncovering who you already are as a competitor — and developing that into its highest form.
Ru doesn't hand students a cookie-cutter routine. He studies how you move, what music speaks to you, where your natural strengths live, and what your body does that no one else's does. Then he builds around that. The goal is a version of you that is undeniable on the competition floor — not a version of someone else.
Ru's curriculum is progressive and personalized. Here are the four core tracks every student moves through.
Brand new to sport martial arts. You'll build from the ground up — safe handling, grip mechanics, basic strikes, body awareness, and foundational confidence. Parent updates included for younger students.
Familiar with sport martial arts and ready to elevate your performance. Focus shifts to style refinement, flow, tricking combos, and competition prep. Personalized drills and competition planning included.
For seasoned competitors and performers ready to define their character. Full routine choreography, advanced weapon integration, competition strategy, stage/screen performance, and highlight video production.
Bring KAMASWITHRU to your school. Ru offers recurring workshops and guest classes customized to your students' levels and competition goals — whether beginner fundamentals or elite-level prep.

No. Ru works with all levels — from complete beginners who have never held a pair of kamas, to experienced competitors preparing for nationals. Your first session includes a full assessment so Ru can build the right curriculum for you.
For kamas training: a pair of training kamas (foam or padded recommended for beginners), a clear space of at least 8×8 feet, and a device that can run Zoom or FaceTime. Ru can recommend specific kamas for beginners during your intake. For tricking and kicks, you just need open floor space.
After booking you'll receive a confirmation email with a Zoom link. Ru recommends setting your device at an angle that shows your full body — a tripod or leaning it against a wall works well. No special software required.
